They came out on top against Douglas County by a score of 76-63. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
ThunderRidge's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Charlie Spann, who scored 23 points. Spann hasn't dropped below 15points for eight straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Tommy Wight, who scored 17 points.
Douglas County's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Anthony Nettles, who scored 23 points along with six assists and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Nettles has scored all season. Vaughn Baldwin was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
ThunderRidge pushed their record up to 14-2 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.4 points per game. As for Douglas County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. ThunderRidge will take on Heritage at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Douglas County, they will be playing at home against Chaparral at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Chaparral's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three contests.
