The Palma Chieftains will head out to challenge the Pacific Grove Breakers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Palma is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season.
Thursday just wasn't the day for Palma's offense. They fell just short of Hollister by a score of 1-0 on Thursday. The Chieftains' loss signaled the end of their nine-game winning streak.

Kiersten Jara spent all 8.2 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on five hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Palma saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Reese Amaral, who went 2-for-4 with one triple.
Meanwhile, Pacific Grove can bid farewell to their 14-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 victory over Salinas. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last three times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Pacific Grove also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Alex Giammanco gave up four runs (all of which were unearned) on six hits.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jasmine Booker, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2025. Lyvia Maciel was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Pacific Grove kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Salinas only managed six.
Pacific Grove's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-13 and their overall record up to 6-17. As for Palma, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-7.
Palma beat Pacific Grove 10-5 in their previous matchup back in April. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Chieftains since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
