The Sierra Vista Mountain Lions scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They skirted past Cimarron-Memorial 69-67. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Sierra Vista found their leader in underclassman Taylor Lane, who scored 20 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Lane has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Arlene Olivraes, who scored 12 points.
Sierra Vista is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. As for Cimarron-Memorial, their loss ended a ten-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 11-4.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Green Valley the next time they take the court. Cimarron-Memorial will head out to face Green Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while Sierra Vista will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
