The Loris Lions entered their tilt with the Aynor Blue Jackets with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Loris walked away with a 51-43 win over Aynor on Wednesday. That's another feather in the cap for Loris, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
It was another big night for Janiya Richburg, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. Richburg is crushing the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Mariasia Moody, who scored 12 points along with five steals.
Aynor's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Shanya Alston, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Paisley Page, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds.
Loris is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-13 record this season. As for Aynor, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-9.
