Two weeks ago, Bucktail was beaten by Coudersport 48-20. Bucktail has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, Northwest Area's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. Their tough 46-22 loss to South Williamsport might stick with them for a while. Northwest Area was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 32-0.
Despite the defeat, Northwest Area had strong showings from Andrew Bonczewski, who picked up 90 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and Jace Mccoy, who threw for 224 yards and three touchdowns.
Bucktail has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season. As for Northwest Area, their defeat was their ninth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 2-8.
Bucktail was dealt a bruising 42-6 loss at the hands of Northwest Area in their previous matchup back in September of 2020. Can Bucktail avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
