Melrose has gone 8-2 against Burlington recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Red Raiders will host the Red Devils at 5:30 p.m.
Melrose came up short against Duxbury on Saturday, falling 3-0.
The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Duxbury scored at least 18 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-18, 25-18.

Despite the loss, Melrose saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Sadie Smith had 20 assists and ten digs. Smith has been hot for a while, having posted 14 or more assists the last 12 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Elise Marchais, who had seven digs and one assist.
Meanwhile, Burlington got the win against Bedford on Friday by a conclusive 3-0. The Red Devils haven't had any issues with the Buccaneers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Burlington took every set by at least 12 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-9, 25-13, 25-12.
Burlington's win came from a few key players Melrose will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Lexie Carmody, who had seven digs and two aces. That's the most aces she has posted since back in September. Sia Ganapathy also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assists of the season.
Burlington's win bumped their record up to 13-4. As for Melrose, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-6 record this season.
