Cypress didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Allie Scherer, Franzcheskah De Joya, and Jasmyne Roberts picked up one apiece.
Meanwhile, Bishop Amat put their dominant defense on display in the team's seventh consecutive shutout on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 25-0 margin over St. Paul. The result was nothing new for the Lancers, who have now won 11 matchups by 20 points or more so far this season.
Bishop Amat's win came from a few key players Cypress will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Lyla Terry, who rushed for 75 yards and one score on only nine carries, and also threw for 45 yards and one touchdown. Bishop Amat's leading receiver Mya Partida was Terry's top target yet again, picking up 20 receiving yards and one TD, while also punching in one score on the ground.
Bishop Amat's run defense was locked in: St. Paul could only muster -0.2 yards per carry. While three picked up at least two total tackles, Mayahuel Villaneda stood above the rest. She picked up a sack and made two total tackles (2.0 for loss). Bishop Amat didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 9.1.
Bishop Amat's defense also made the game a nightmare for Sidney Galvan, racking up eight sacks. In that department, Vivian Yamzon was the leader with seven.
Cypress' win bumped their record up to 19-6. As for Bishop Amat, their victory bumped their record up to 21-5.
