Jefferson Independent Day found their leader in underclassman Jack Twiss, who scored 23 points along with six assists and three steals. Another player making a difference was Ethan Renger, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Ballard's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Payson Hill, who scored 17 points. Bradley Bergschnieder was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Jefferson Independent Day's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-16. As for Ballard, their loss was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-14.
Jefferson Independent Day and Southern Missouri RUSH will face off at 6:30 p.m. on January 29th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Jefferson Independent Day has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last five games. As for Ballard, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Northeast Vernon County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
