Softball Recap: Dow Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Dow had lost three games straight , but after bumping their record up to 2-3 on Tuesday that streak is in the rearview. They came out on top against the Bay City Western Warriors by a score of 9-6. This was a revenge game for the Chargers: when they faced off against the Warriors on Monday, they had to take a 13-12 loss.

As for Bay City Western, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. The match marked their lowest-scoring game so far this season.

For Bay City Western's part, Kyra Smith and Leah Schumann did some serious damage despite the final result: Smith went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double, while Schumann went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That double marked the first that Smith has hit this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dow will host Lapeer at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Bay City Western, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Powers Catholic at 4:00 p.m.
