Meanwhile, Riverdale entered their tilt with Manteno on Friday with eight consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with nine. They skirted past the Panthers 4-2.
Katie Cox was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Breckin DeLaRosa was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run and one double.
Riverdale was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .318 or higher in five consecutive matches.
Biggsville West Central's defeat dropped their record down to 27-5. As for Riverdale, their victory bumped their record up to 24-4.
Saturday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Biggsville West Central hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .374. However, it's not like Riverdale struggles in that department as they've averaged .385. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
