The Maple Grove Red Dragons pushed their score all the way to 60 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 73-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of Panama. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Maple Grove in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now lost four in a row.
Carter Brink was his usual excellent self, scoring 30 points along with five rebounds for Panama. Another player making a difference was Alex Barmore, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Maple Grove's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Panama, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-2 record this season.
Maple Grove will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on the Thunderbirds at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Panama, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on January 31st. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Brocton has struggled recently with three losses in a row, while the Panthers will arrive with three straight wins.
