Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Poly). They put the hurt on the Paloma Valley Wildcats with a sharp 16-1 win on Tuesday. The Bears haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.
Marley Audoma made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, Poly got a massive performance out of Karly Romero, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. Those six RBI gave Romero a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Violet Espin, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.
Poly always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .575. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Paloma Valley only posted an OBP of .222.

The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Paloma Valley, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-9 record this season.
