They were two  runs away from ending the streak, but they lost  a   10-8 heartbreaker at the hands of the Winfield Pirates. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pirates this season, as they also lost their prior matchup  7-4  back in February.
  Emersyn Haney and  Lexi Kilgore stepped up to the plate in a big way.  Haney  went a perfect 3-for-3 with two  runs, one  triple,  and two  RBI, while  Kilgore  went 2-for-4 with one  home run, two  runs,  and two  RBI. Another player making a difference was  America Montgomery, who  went 2-for-4 with one  stolen base, one  run,  and one  RBI.
Jasper's loss dropped their record down to 18-13. As for Winfield, the  victory (which was their 18th in a row) raised their record to 27-4.
 Coming up, Jasper will head out on the road to  face off against  Calera  at 4:30  p.m.  on Friday. As for Winfield, they have already played their next game,  a  4-2  win against Gordo on the 15th.
