Basketball Recap: Valley Forge Comes Up Short

Valley Forge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 17th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Lorain Titans, falling 70-39. One positive for the Patriots, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Lorain's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aminah Mustafa, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 11 assists. Those 11 assists gave Mustafa a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ava Miller, who posted ten points.

Valley Forge's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Lorain, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.

Valley Forge will head out to square off against Bay at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Valley Forge is facing Bay at the right time seeing as Bay is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Lorain, they will head out on the road to face off against Shaker Heights at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Shaker Heights is on a four-game streak of home wins, Lorain a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
