The Beatrice Orangemen pushed their score all the way to 62 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a hard 81-62 fall against Wahoo. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (56), Beatrice still had to take the loss.
Leading Wahoo to victory were Marcus Glock and Dylan Simons. Glock scored 21 points along with six rebounds, while Simons scored 17 points along with four steals. Glock has been hot recently, having posted 19 or more points the last six times he's played. Another player making a difference was Cody Hesser, who scored four points along with six rebounds and six steals.
Beatrice has not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season. As for Wahoo, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Beatrice has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Crusaders on February 6th. Wahoo will take on the Trojans at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Platteview will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nebraska Rankings (they are ranked 51st, while the Warriors are ranked ninth).
