After a string of seven wins, the South Plantation Paladins's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 67-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of Western. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for South Plantation in their matchups with Western: they've now lost eight in a row.
Several Paladins players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Dwight Stephens, who scored 17 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Kaiden Francis, who scored 13 points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Western to victory, but perhaps none more so than Andre Guerrier, who scored 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Calvin Thompson, who scored 15 points.
South Plantation's loss dropped their record down to 16-3. As for Western, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.
South Plantation's road trip will continue as they head out to face Hialeah Educational Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 13th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (Hialeah Educational Academy is ranked 46th, while South Plantation is ranked 44th). Western won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Saint Andrew's at 2:30 p.m. on January 13th. One thing working in Saint Andrew's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five matchups.
