The contest between both teams wasn't particularly close, with Stayton falling 62-47. They have not had much luck with Cascade recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Stayton's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Ethan Whieldon, who scored nine points along with two steals, and Kaden Holm who scored ten points along with two steals. That's the first time this season that Holm grabbed two or more steals.
Stayton struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Stayton's loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Cascade, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-2.
Stayton will be playing at home against Newport at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Cascade, they will head out on the road to take on North Marion at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Oregon (North Marion is ranked 33rd, while Cascade is ranked 21st).
