The Saint Mary's Hall Barons are taking a road trip to take on the St. Joseph Flyers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Saint Mary's Hall 2.4, St. Joseph 1.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Saint Mary's Hall took a 13-run defeat the last time they faced off against San Antonio Christian, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Saint Mary's Hall skirted past San Antonio Christian 3-2. The victory was nothing new for the Barons as they're now sitting on four straight.

Meryl Jones was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits (and not a single walk). Those ten strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Riley Wallace was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Harder Kuhm also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Meanwhile, St. Joseph entered their tilt with Providence Catholic on Saturday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Provets 15-1. Considering the Flyers have won 12 matchups by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Alexia Sanchez looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, St. Joseph got a massive performance out of Gianna Morris, who scored four runs and stole five bases while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Avery Grimsinger, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
St. Joseph was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .423. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in three consecutive games.
St. Joseph pushed their record up to 14-4 with the win, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.6 runs over those games. As for Saint Mary's Hall, their record now sits at 9-4-1.
Tuesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Saint Mary's Hall has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .497. However, it's not like St. Joseph struggles in that department as they've averaged .507. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Saint Mary's Hall might still be hurting after the 21-2 loss they got from St. Joseph in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can Saint Mary's Hall avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
