Walnut's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cory Fluker, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and two blocks. That's the first time this season that Fluker posted two or more blocks. Nathan Yen was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with five steals.
Even though Bellflower has not done well against Gahr recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Bellflower escaped with a win against Gahr by the margin of a single free throw, 57-56.
Walnut has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. As for Bellflower, their win bumped their record up to 12-7.
Everything came up roses for Walnut against Bellflower in their previous matchup back in December of 2021 as the team secured a 73-31 win. With Walnut ahead 47-22 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
