Cass is 9-0 against Paulding County since December of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Cass Colonels will be staying on the road to face off against the Paulding County Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on December 19th. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Saturday, Cass was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 46-42 to Heard County.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 60-30, which was the final score in Paulding County's tilt against Harrison on Friday. While losing is never fun, Paulding County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 250th, while Harrison is ranked 20th).
Despite the loss, Paulding County had strong showings from Hope Johnson, who scored six points along with 15 rebounds and three steals, and Skye Harris, who scored eight points. Those 15 rebounds set a new season-high mark for her.
Cass' loss dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Paulding County, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
Cass didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Paulding County in their previous meeting back in November of 2022, but they still walked away with a 51-47 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Cass since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
