The Dr. Joaquin Garcia Bulldogs came tearing into Friday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against Dreyfoos School of the Arts by a score of 31-24. For Dr. Joaquin Garcia, this counts as revenge for the 26-24 defeat the Jaguars walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.
Dr. Joaquin Garcia found their leader in underclassman Lauren Vance, who scored ten points.
Despite the defeat, Dreyfoos School of the Arts saw an underclassman step up: Kaitlyn Maldonado scored 11 points along with three steals.
Dr. Joaquin Garcia's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-8. As for Dreyfoos School of the Arts, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-5.
Dr. Joaquin Garcia has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Raiders at 6:00 p.m. on January 22nd. As for Dreyfoos School of the Arts, they and the Owls will face off at 5:30 p.m. on January 24th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. FAU High comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 15 points in their last four games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
