The Grapevine Mustangs will square off against the Lovejoy Leopards at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Grapevine took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They walked away with a 6-1 win over Eagle Mountain.
The team relied heavily on Graelyn Lindbloom, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Tiana Coburn, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.
Grapevine was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. The last time their batting average was this high was back in March of 2025.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lovejoy). They were the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over Kingwood Park on Thursday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.
Tatum Vitek was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high. Addison Seely was another key player, earning one RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
The win made it two in a row for Lovejoy and bumps their season record up to 3-0-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Grapevine, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Grapevine hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .320. However, it's not like Lovejoy struggles in that department as they've averaged .321. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
