Softball Recap: Starmount Picks Up Eighth Consecutive Victory

Starmount entered their tilt with Alleghany on Tuesday with seven consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with eight. They put the hurt on the Trojans with a sharp 13-3 victory. Considering the Rams have won nine games by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Starmount pushed their record up to 12-9 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Alleghany, they are on a 19-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-18.

Looking ahead, Starmount will venture away from home to square off against East Wilkes at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Cardinals will roll in looking for their 15th straight win, something the Rams surely won't give up without a fight. As for Alleghany, they will host Mount Airy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
