The Platt Panthers's 18-5 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They took a serious blow against Wilton on Wednesday, falling 71-44. While losing is never fun, Platt can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut basketball rankings (they are ranked 99th, while Wilton is ranked 11th).
Henry Roy continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Wilton, dropping a double-double on 23 points and 11 rebounds. Roy set a new season high mark in blocks with two. Max Jarvie was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with 13 rebounds.
Platt still hasn't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3. That rough patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.5 points per game. As for Wilton, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.
Platt will be playing in front of their home fans against Plainville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Plainville comes in still looking for their first win of the season. Wilton won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Hand at 1:00 p.m. on December 28, 2023.
