The Chancellor Chargers waltzed into their game on Tuesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 64-35 win over King George. Given Chancellor's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 171st, while King George is ranked 366th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Chancellor got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Seth Hunter out in front who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 13 rebounds. Charles Brown was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with two steals.
King George's loss came despite strong showings from Eli Trulow and Daniel Boyd. Trulow scored 12 points, while Boyd scored six points.
King George struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Chancellor pulled down 21 offensive rebounds.
Chancellor has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season. As for King George, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost 12 of their last 14 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-16 record this season.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Culpeper County the next time they take the court. King George will head out to face Culpeper County at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, while Chancellor will host them at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
