The East Columbus Gators will square off against the East Bladen Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with East Columbus sitting on 15 straight wins and East Bladen on three.
On Wednesday, East Columbus made easy work of West Columbus and carried off a 3-0 victory.
The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant East Columbus was: they took every set by at least ten points. The match finished with set scores of 25-7, 25-15, 25-10.

East Columbus got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was MacKenzie Clemmons out in front who had six digs and four aces. That's the most aces Clemmons has posted over her last seven matches. Brittany Mitchell was another key player, getting 20 assists.
They weren't the only good servers: East Columbus was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 14 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces every time they've taken the court this season.
Meanwhile, East Bladen got the win against Lakewood on Tuesday by a conclusive 3-0.
The final score came out to 25-12, 25-19, 25-9.
East Bladen's victory bumped their record up to 6-13. As for East Columbus, their win bumped their record up to 16-1.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday's matchup: East Columbus hasn't let much over the net this season, having averaged 5.5 blocks per game. However, it's not like East Bladen struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5 blocks. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
