Thompson Valley's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Avery Gibbs, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 13 boards. Gibbs is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as she's posted one of at least 58% in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Penny Gilbert, who posted six points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals.
Timnath found their leader in sophomore Izzy Schimmelpfennig, who went 6-for-10 to rack up 19 points and seven boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Schimmelpfennig has scored all season. Olivia Zadeh was another key player, dropping a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
The loss was their first at home , dropping their record down to 16-6. As for Timnath, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 18-2.
Coincidentally, Thompson Valley and Timnath will both be playing Roosevelt the next time they take the court. Timnath will host Roosevelt at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Thompson Valley will host them at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
