The Sac-Joaquin Section heavyweight programs competed in intersectional games with mixed results in a meeting of Bay Area programs.
Top-ranked Folsom belted San Ramon Valley (Danville) 67-36 and No. 9 Del Oro (Loomis) fell to national power De La Salle (Concord) 41-3.
All told, the section is 12-11 against Bay Area teams. This week, ranked foes Granite Bay and Pittsburg face off to extend the debate as to who plays better football: The Bay Area or the Sac-Joaquin Section?

Jake Browning, who passed for 596 yards and eight touchdowns. The yardage is the third most in a single game, behind Browning's 689 yards that he dropped on Woodcreek (Roseville) in his varsity debut a year ago as a sophomore and the 601 that Folsom's Tanner Trosin delivered to Deer Valley (Antioch) in 2011.

Brandon Lewis rushed for 96 yards and a score.

Ian Book passed for 282 yards and two touchdowns and the Trojans pounded out the needed yards on the ground to run out the clock to beat previous No. 5 Grant (Sacramento) 20-17.
Thomas Mahlman had 14 tackles and

5. (7) Granite Bay (2-1)Tony Ellison rushed for four touchdowns for the second consecutive game as a Flyback blur in beating previous No. 8 Vacaville 46-28. He had 168 yards rushing, and

6. (5) Grant (Sacramento) (3-1)The Pacers lost to No. 4 Oak Ridge after leading 10-0 behind a punishing running game, including 86 yards from
TieNeal Martin. The Pacers allowed just 43 yards rushing.

Matt Ringer, who rushed for 156 yards and two touchdowns. Central Catholic had six sacks and three interceptions.

12. (15) Rocklin (2-2)The Thunder, with close losses this season to No. 3 Pleasant Grove (28-14) and No. 4 Oak Ridge (24-21) beat a good Del Campo (Fair Oaks) team 31-6.

13. (10) Inderkum (Sacramento) (3-1)Despite some good efforts and numbers, the Tigers lost to No. 3 Pleasant Grove 33-19.
C. J. Spencer threw for 200 yards and two touchdowns,

Khalil Hudson caught six passes for 163 yards, including a 70-yard touchdown.

14. (8) Vacaville (2-1)The Bulldogs lost to No 5 Granite Bay 46-28, though they rushed for 249 yards on 62 carries.

The Wildcats beat previous No. 22 Cosumnes Oaks (Elk Grove) as sophomore QB
Lamar Jackson accounted for three touchdowns.
Joey Banks scored on a 9-yard effort and played well on defense.

16. (15) Turlock (4-0)The Bulldogs enjoyed a 41-14 lead over rival Modesto, then sweated out a 41-40 victory. Modesto went for the winning 2-point conversion late in the 115th meeting between the schools.

Andrew Lopez a 19-yard scoring effort for Turlock.
