West Las Vegas has been on the road for three straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Raton Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
While it was all tied up 32-32 at halftime, West Las Vegas was not quite Santa Fe Indian's equal in the second half on Friday. They fell 65-58 to the Braves. West Las Vegas has struggled against Santa Fe Indian recently, as their matchup on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the defeat, West Las Vegas got a solid performance out of C.j. Perea, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 14 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Perea has scored all season. Another player making a difference was P.j. Montano, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, Raton's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight defeat. They were beaten by St. Michael's 70-40.
West Las Vegas has not been sharp recently as the team has lost eight of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-9 record this season. As for Raton, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-14.
