Baseball Recap: Bisbee Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

Bisbee entered their tilt with Morenci on Tuesday with six consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with seven. They were the clear victors by a 13-1 margin over the Wildcats. The Pumas might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 games by six runs or more this season.

David Corella was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, four RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Sebastian Lopez, who scored two runs and stole four bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Bisbee was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .520. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.

Bisbee's win was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-3. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Morenci, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-11.

Coming up, Bisbee is taking a road trip to challenge Santa Rita at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 19.4 runs per game on average), something the Pumas will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Morenci, they will square off against Hayden at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Lobos' pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so the Wildcats' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
