Rising Sun is a perfect 10-0 against South Ripley since May of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Shiners will be playing at home against the Raiders at 5:30 p.m. Rising Sun will be looking to extend their current 13-game winning streak.
Rising Sun came out on top against New Washington on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive ten-run first inning. The Shiners were the clear victors by an 18-2 margin over the Mustangs. The result was nothing new for the Shiners, who have now won 12 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

J'Lynn Rodriguez made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched five innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (five). She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.
In other batting news, Tamryn Miller was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Reese Merica was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.
Rising Sun was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .625. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .308 or higher in ten consecutive games.
Meanwhile, South Ripley was able to grind out a solid victory over Southwestern on Friday, taking the game 9-5. That's two games straight that the Raiders have won by exactly four runs.
Like Rising Sun, South Ripley also got a great game from a two-way player: Ellie Combs. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off six hits. Combs was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Julia Hilton, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Kelly Lohrum, who went 1-for-3 with three runs.
Rising Sun pushed their record up to 14-3 with the win, which was their 19th straight on the road dating back to last season. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for South Ripley, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-11 record this season.
Everything went Rising Sun's way against South Ripley in their previous meeting back in April, as Rising Sun made off with a 6-0 win. Will the Shiners repeat their success, or do the Raiders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
