Basketball Recap: Cohen Hoodless' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Central over Baker

Central lost against Baker back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Central Jaguars came up short against the Baker Gators, falling 60-40. The Jaguars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Several Jaguars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Cohen Hoodless, who went 5 of 7 on his way to 11 points. That's the most points Hoodless has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Brock Schmidt, who posted six points and six rebounds.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Baker to victory, but perhaps none more so than Peyton Ellis, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Cole Hardin, who went 5 for 12 en route to 15 points and six rebounds.

Central's defeat dropped their record down to 7-14. As for Baker, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season.

Central has already played their next match, a 73-46 loss against West Florida Baptist Academy on the 28th. Baker has also already played their next contest (against Pensacola Christian Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
