The West Forsyth Titans entered their tilt with the R.J. Reynolds Demons with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. West Forsyth came out on top against R.J. Reynolds by a score of 70-59 on Friday. Given West Forsyth's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 55th, while R.J. Reynolds is ranked 218th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
West Forsyth's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jacari Brim, who scored 15 points along with six assists and six rebounds. Brim is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last five games he's played. West Forsyth is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season. As for R.J. Reynolds, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-6.
West Forsyth will look to defend their home court on Saturday against McMichael at 1:30 p.m. McMichael is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. R.J. Reynolds won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Triad Baptist Christian Academy at 3:00 p.m. on January 13th. Triad Baptist Christian Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five games -- so hopefully R.J. Reynolds likes a good challenge.
