The Saratoga Falcons fought the good fight in their overtime game against the Central Catholic Raiders on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Raiders by a score of 65-62. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Central Catholic got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Wesley Payne out in front who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 16 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Tyler Wentworth, who scored 14 points along with 7 rebounds.
Saratoga's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Central Catholic, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Saratoga will take on Carmel at 8:00 p.m. on December 8th. As for Central Catholic, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Washington Union at 6:30 p.m.
