On Friday, School of the Ozarks was able to grind out a solid victory over Kansas City Christian School, taking the game 40-31. The win made it back-to-back wins for School of the Ozarks.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead School of the Ozarks to victory, but perhaps none more so than Caleb Widner, who scored eight points along with ten steals and five rebounds. Those ten steals set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Shadrach Thompson, who scored six points along with 11 rebounds and four steals.
School of the Ozarks' win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 5-3. As for Kansas City Christian School, they bumped their record down to 1-5 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.
School of the Ozarks will be home for the holidays to greet Fordland at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Kansas City Christian School will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Cair Paravel at 7:30 p.m. on January 9, 2024.
