The Evangelical Christian Sentinels will challenge the Lake Region Thunder at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Evangelical Christian is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.
On Thursday, Evangelical Christian sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 win over Charlotte. The four-run effort marked the Sentinels' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Hayden Billie looked comfortable as she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.
At the plate, Evangelical Christian saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Reese Niemier, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI. That triple marked the first that Niemier hit this season. Another was Karsyn Mootz, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Lake Region ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out George Jenkins 3-2. Winning may never get old, but the Thunder sure are getting used to it with their eighth in a row.
Makenna Meadows made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 16 batters over eight innings while giving up just two earned runs off eight hits (and not a single walk). The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in strikeouts. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Margaret Jenkins, who scored two runs and stole Four bases. while going 2-for-3. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 1.2 stolen bases per game.
Evangelical Christian's victory was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-0. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Lake Region, their record is now 9-1.
Friday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Evangelical Christian hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .408. However, it's not like Lake Region struggles in that department as they've averaged .356. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Evangelical Christian couldn't quite finish off Lake Region in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 and fell 2-0. Can Evangelical Christian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
