The Tidewater Academy Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They took a 48-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of Amelia Academy. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Tidewater Academy of the 92-70 defeat they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2023.
Amelia Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kyle Anderson, who scored 14 points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Anderson has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jacob Barbour, who scored eight points along with 11 rebounds and two steals.
Tidewater Academy's defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 3-9. As for Amelia Academy, their win bumped their record up to 1-4.
Tidewater Academy will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Kenston Forest at 7:00 p.m. Kenston Forest presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Tidewater Academy in Virginia (Kenston Forest is ranked 157th, while Tidewater Academy is ranked 440th). As for Amelia Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge Southampton Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Southampton Academy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
