It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Pieper Warriors had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They came out on top against the Mules by a score of 53-46. The victory was familiar territory for Pieper who now have 11 in a row.
Pieper got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jake South out in front who threw for 368 yards and six touchdowns. South has been hot recently, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last seven times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of John Hamilton, who gained 139 total yards and four touchdowns.
Another reason for the win was Pieper's imposing defensive line, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Kaden Glass.
Pieper's victory bumped their record up to 12-1. As for Alamo Heights, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 12-1.
Pieper is on the road again on Friday and play against Liberty Hill at 7:00 p.m. on December 1st. Both teams might be coming in a bit winded given how much these teams ran up and down the field in their prior games. Alamo Heights does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
