Sodus is 9-1 against Williamson since June of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Spartans will challenge the Marauders at 9:00 a.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Sodus comes in on 12 and Williamson on three.
If Sodus beats Williamson with 12 runs on Saturday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two matchups with that exact score. The Spartans were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over Waterloo on Friday. Considering the Spartans have won eight games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Sodus got a massive performance out of Evan Laird, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits Laird has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Parker Orbaker, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
Sodus was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .450. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .346 or higher in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Williamson). Everything went their way against Red Creek on Friday as they made off with a 20-7 win. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Marauders with their most commanding win of the season.
Myles Wurtz made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with three runs and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Mikey Ishler was a standout: he got on base in all five of his plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and two RBI. He has become a key player for Williamson: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 2-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Joey VanLare, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple.
Sodus pushed their record up to 12-0 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.1 runs on average over those games. As for Williamson, their record is now 6-3.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. Sodus has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Williamson struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.1 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Sodus beat Williamson 4-1 in their previous matchup back in April. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Spartans since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
