The biggest upset of the week belonged to Murphy, who took down 39th ranked Murphy, 29-28.
McGill-Toolen extended the longest winning streak in 6A Region 1 this week by beating Baker, 49-13. The win marks ninth in a row for the the Yellowjackets.
The Hornets' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Forrest Anderson threw for 26 yards and Daniel Bartson had 13 yards receiving. On the ground Berron Tyson chipped in 165 yards. Aaron Crayton helped Baker's passing attack out by catching two balls for 13 yards.
The Panthers' Kameron Maye and Michael Hudson have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Maye has thrown for 373 yards this season, while Hudson, a 5-foot-9 receiver, has 18 catches for 324 yards. Tyson from Baker leads the league in rushing with 1350 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when McGill-Toolen takes on Murphy. Bart Sessions' team is in first place, while Ronn Lee's team is in third place.
Bryant and the Panthers played the most hotly contested game in 6A Region 1 this week, with Bryant eventually emerging with a 29-28 victory.
