The Edgewater Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Horizon Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
Edgewater fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Freedom on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Patriots by a score of 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Eagles have suffered since March 13, 2025.
Edgewater saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Yusef Charles, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
Meanwhile, Horizon had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Falcons as they made off with a 7-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Hawks, who have now won nine matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Michael Singer was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over seven innings pitched. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Sebastian Davila, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. That's the most doubles he has posted since back in February. Reid Patton was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI.
Horizon kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive games.
Horizon's record is now 15-7-1. As for Edgewater, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-11-1.
