Rangeview is 0-3 against the Angels since March of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Rangeview Raiders will be playing in front of their home fans against the Denver East Angels at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
Rangeview put the finishing touches on their sixth blowout victory of the season on Saturday. They breezed by Aurora Central at home to the tune of 72-31. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Rangeview had established a 36 point advantage.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Rangeview to victory, but perhaps none more so than Elijah Denney, who scored ten points along with five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Yasin Sekue, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds.
Meanwhile, you can't lose the matchup if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Denver East's strategy against the Warriors on Saturday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Denver East blew the Warriors out of the water with a 84-18 final score. The victory was just what Denver East needed coming off of a 88-64 defeat in their prior game.
Denver East can attribute much of their success to James Murray, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds and three steals, and Maurice Fulcher, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine assists. Fulcher hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Ehud Tesfoye, who scored ten points along with five assists and two steals.
Rangeview pushed their record up to 9-10 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.6 points per game. As for Denver East, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season.
Rangeview suffered a grim 74-54 defeat to the Angels in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Will Rangeview have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other basketball content.
