The Edgewood Cougars scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They came out on top against Franklin by a score of 70-61. The victory was nothing new for Edgewood as they're now sitting on three straight.
It was another big night for Rylie Homan, who scored 18 points along with eight assists and seven rebounds. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last nine times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddy Judd, who scored 22 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Edgewood's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-8. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.4 points per game. As for Franklin, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-13.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Edgewood's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Valley View at 7:15 p.m. on January 29th. Franklin will take on Preble Shawnee at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Preble Shawnee focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 last Thursday.
