The Shenango Wildcats will be playing at home against the Quaker Valley Quakers at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
On Saturday, Shenango came up short against Ellwood City and fell 60-47. Shenango has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, Quaker Valley's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight defeat. They took a hard 68-53 fall against Montour. While losing is never fun, Quaker Valley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 275th, while Montour is ranked 16th).
Despite the defeat, Quaker Valley got a solid performance out of Joey Coyle, who scored 25 points along with six rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Zach Washington, who scored 14 points.
Shenango's defeat dropped their record down to 12-9. As for Quaker Valley, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-11.
