Manor New Tech has been on the road for four straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the La Grange Leopards at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Caldwell scored an imposing 55 points on Tuesday, Manor New Tech still came out on top. Manor New Tech took down the Hornets 71-55.
Meanwhile, La Grange came tearing into Friday's matchup with 14 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21.1 points) and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victor by a 46-25 margin over Giddings. La Grange has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 games by 21 points or more this season.
La Grange's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nathan Scott, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Clayton Cooper, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Manor New Tech pushed their record up to 15-14 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. As for La Grange, they have been performing well recently as they've won 20 of their last 24 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 24-8 record this season.
Manor New Tech came up short against the Leopards when the teams last played back in January, falling 66-58. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Scott, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 22 rebounds. Now that Manor New Tech knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
