There's no place like home for First Christian, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over the Brunswick Christian Academy Eagles on Thursday. Considering the Lions have won six games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Hayden Grant was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Morgan Earnhart, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one triple. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. Colten Rebardo was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

First Christian's victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Brunswick Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-2.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: First Christian beat the Eagles by a score of 9-1 later that day.
