St. Joseph and St. Thomas More are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2019, but likely not for long. The Lancers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Cavaliers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (St. Joseph 3.1, St. Thomas More 3.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
St. Thomas More will be up against a hot St. Joseph squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. The Lancers walked away with a 9-6 win over Westosha Central on Wednesday.
Zach Rizzo was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched four innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. Rizzo was even better at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.
In other pitching news, Mason Ballard looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Dominic Santarelli was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and two RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to home runs, as he's now launched at least one in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Peter Visconti, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
St. Joseph lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now launched at least two home runs in three consecutive matches.
St. Thomas More came out on top against Shoreland Lutheran on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run seventh inning. The Cavaliers took their game against the Pacers 6-2.
Austin Adamczewski made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Adamczewski was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI. Those RBI marked the first that he has brought in this season.
In other pitching news, Evan Weckman looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Carson Weist, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one RBI. Brody Alivo was another key player, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs.
St. Joseph pushed their record up to 8-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for St. Thomas More, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Both St. Joseph and St. Thomas More just can't seem to miss. The Lancers have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.2 hits per game. However, it's not like St. Thomas More struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.3 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
St. Joseph couldn't quite get it done against St. Thomas More in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 as they fell 3-0. Can the Lancers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
