Football Recap: St. Francis Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Victory

St. Francis put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They strolled past the Pleasant Grove Eagles with points to spare, taking the game 20-2. Given the Troubadours' advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 12th, while the Eagles are ranked 72nd) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead St. Francis to victory, but perhaps none more so than Natalia Zitelli, who rushed for 32 yards and two TDs. That's the most rushing touchdowns Zitelli has posted since back in September of 2024.

St. Francis didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Piper Bates led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by herself.

St. Francis' record is now 3-0. As for Pleasant Grove, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

St. Francis didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 14-13 win against Rio Linda on the 23rd. As for Pleasant Grove, they have also already played their next game, a 41-0 victory against Cordova on the 23rd.
