The Somers Spartans will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against the Windsor Locks Raiders at 6:45 p.m. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Somers entered their tilt with Suffield with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Somers managed a 51-46 win over Suffield on Monday.
Meanwhile, Windsor Locks strolled past Sports & Medical Sciences Academy with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 54-40. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Windsor Locks.
Windsor Locks' success was spearheaded by the efforts of Jasmine Hurdle, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and three steals, and Maeve McGinnis, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 19 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points McGinnis has scored all season.
Somers is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. As for Windsor Locks, their victory bumped their record up to 8-9.
Somers strolled past Windsor Locks when the teams last played back in January of 2023 by a score of 60-45. Does Somers have another victory up their sleeve, or will Windsor Locks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
