It was a good run, but the Memphis Central Warriors unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 59-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of Center Hill. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Memphis Central has scored all season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Center Hill to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jairya Rankins, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and three blocks. Another player making a difference was Madison Hughes, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds.
Memphis Central's defeat dropped their record down to 6-1. As for Center Hill, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-3.
Memphis Central and First Assembly Christian will round out the year against one another at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday at. First Assembly Christian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings (they are ranked 214th, while Memphis Central is ranked 84th). Center Hill is on the road again on Thursday and play against West Memphis at 7:30 p.m. on December 28, 2023.
